“About Us” puts you in touch with WHO we are, WHAT we believe, and WHY we exist.
Thank you for visiting our website. We want to give you an idea of what New Friendship is all about. Browse our site; check us out. Take a look at our logo. It is right here on this page. Do you see the two people with their upraised hands clasping? That is what New Friendship is all about, people coming together in fellowship and Christian love.
The two people in the logo have a cross over their upraised hands. We never want to forget that we are gathered together in Jesus’ name and that our purpose is to share His gospel story.
If you look closely, you will see a church building between the two people. That building is New Friendship Baptist Church. Our church is formed by people who have a relationship with our Savior and have promised to expand God’s kingdom together.
Our church is the people. The beautiful sanctuary in the photo on the home page is the building where New Friendship worships together, prays together, and learns together.
Hopefully, this gives you a feel for what we are all about. We are a local body of believers who love God, love each other, and are looking for ways to prove it. Come worship with us! We enjoy making new friends.

Our Beliefs
Beliefs
New Friendship Baptist Church is a family of believers who hold to the following beliefs:
God—We believe there is one God who exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus—We believe Jesus is the Son of God, was born of a virgin, was wholly God and wholly man, lived a sinless life, died in our place as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind, was buried, arose bodily from the grave, and ascended into Heaven.
Christ’s Return—We believe that Jesus Christ will literally return to earth.
Holy Spirit—We believe that God the Holy Spirit is active in convincing unbelievers of their need for salvation, and is the Comforter and Guide Who lives in every believer.
Bible—We believe the Bible is the Word of God without any error; the sole authority for life and faith.
Man—We believe man is a special creation of God, made in His image, but through the sin of the first man, Adam, mankind fell so that all men are sinners and need salvation.
Salvation—We believe salvation is a gift received through repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Assurance—We believe every person who is truly saved is eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Eternity—We believe those persons who die in their sins without Christ spend eternity in Hell and those persons who die with their sins forgiven through Christ spend eternity in Heaven.
Baptism—We believe water baptism is an act of obedience to the command of Christ and is by immersion after salvation.
Church—We believe the church is a local body of baptized believers with the Lord Jesus Christ as the Head.
Prayer—We believe each believer has direct access to God through the Lord Jesus Christ.
History A like minded group of 125 Christians got together in Northern Neck , VA in 1979 and formed an alliance to create New Friendship Baptist church. Members of the church would meet initially at the Glebe Point firehouse prior to the church being completed. The church was officially formed in March of 1979 and was built by the members. Please come join us for Sunday worship and Bible study in our beautiful rural Virginia setting Sundays at 8:30 AM.
